Northern California driving roads

Bolinas-Fairfax Road is located in beautiful Marin County (North of the Golden Gate Bridge). It's 2nd and 3rd gear driving with tons of twists, switchbacks, elevation gains and drops. Road is lightly traveled but gets heavier on nicer days as there are hiking and Mt. biking trails nearby.

Permalink Reply by James on May 20, 2008 at 1:20am: East of Monterey and West of Fresno in the middle of nowhere you'll find Panoche Rd. off of Hwy 5 and Hwy 25 which goes down past the Pinnacles National Monument.

Panoche Rd. is a hardly driven 2 lane road that offers it all from long straights to hip bruising cornering; Your shoulders are gonna be sore after this one. Once you get to the end make a left on Hwy 25 and you'll cruise down to the Pinnacles on this super smooth surface with long straights and fast sweeping turns.
