Astra-nomical delivery delays?

I know there are others in my situation, just wondering how widespread it is.
We ordered our Astra XR3 on January 21st. We still (as of April 22nd) have no idea when it's going to arrive. That's three months.
The retailer is trying hard to find out what's going on; the latest update on their tracking site is that it's at the port of entry awaiting clearance, and has been there since March 18th. Nobody seems to be able to help them find out why or get the car moved. The same retailer has received other Astras ordered after ours, and doesn't understand why this one is taking so long.

As a long time Saturn fan, it's hard to say this, but we're going to be looking elsewhere soon. Enough is enough.

Anybody else stuck in delivery delay hell?

Permalink Reply by Jamis on May 1, 2008 at 10:18am: Oh, yes, I am one of those folks with an Astra on order. The folks at Saturn of Toledo have been trying their best to find our car, but they are hampered by an incredible lack of information to them. Here is the status on the car I have on order:
Order number MPVNV7
Event Code 1100 - Order Accepted 01/25/08
Event Code 3450 - Vehicle Produced 03/05/08
Event Code 3750 - Vehicle at POE 04/09/08

That is the last entry on the orderworkbench file. Hopefully these "customer" vehicles will be shipped as soon as possible.; ▶ Reply to This

My order was placed in the system on 20-MAR-2008 and I was told the car was being built the week of 14-APR-2008. I'm still under the 8-12 week time frame the retailer quoted me. However, it's good to see someone from Saturn making the effort to expedite your delivery, although there should have been greater communication throughout the whole delay at the POE.; ▶ Reply to This
