My kids were grown and it was my turn to get a toy. I was not having much luck finding anything that "tripped my trigger" until I saw a Saturn Sky displayed up on a turntable at a car show in 2005, and I was instantly head over heels in love.
When I discovered that Saturn would later be offering a turbo - I knew I would be waiting even longer for that to be available.
But waiting lists were filled and no one in my area was taking any more names or deposit checks. After a 21 month wait, I headed to the local dealership to finally write a deposit check - BUT they just happened to have a special order Sky Red Line in stock with everything I wanted - leather, XM, 6CD Monsoon, spoiler, etc., etc. & it was BLUE !! And the ordering customer had just backed out of the deal.
So I snagged that Midnight Blue gem and drove her home with the biggest grin I have ever had in my life. My daughter promptly dubbed the Sky as Saffyre. But I shortened it to Saffy -which to my daughter is simply more proof that her mother has "lost her mind".
My Saffy is a star wherever she goes and not surprisingly - I've still got my permagrin !! And I have met lots of new people & made new friends thanks to Saffy.

I can be found on the SkyRoadster.com forum as Celt03 and on the SolsticeForum.com site as Saffyre.
I am currently a co-administrator of the Pacific Northwest Roadsters Club.

Unfortunately, as much a car guy as Penske his, he has outlined that the Sky is definitely not going to be continued. :-( He wants to concentrate on getting the core started then add the niche vehicles back in once the company is moving forward. It was really great meeting you and yours @ MECCA.
Thank you.
